What we do
Mainstream nature-based solutions for biodiversity, climate and disaster-risk reduction at scale across Pacific Islands.
The NbSWG — Nature-based Solutions Working Group convenes member organisations, partners and Pacific specialists around the priorities of the Pacific Islands Framework for Nature Conservation. Membership is open to anyone with expertise in the area of the group — not only PIRT member organisation staff.
Five objectives
The NbSWG — Nature-based Solutions Working Group is mandated to deliver against five objectives over the current Framework period (2026–2030).
Mainstream NbS into national climate change & biodiversity policy
Build technical capacity for NbS design + implementation
Ensure Pacific NbS work meets the IUCN Global Standard
Drive co-investment from climate, biodiversity and disaster funds
Document evidence + lessons across Pacific NbS programmes
